I am having the exact same problem. It appears that Bluez does not see my adapter but it does show up under dmesg and lsusb. 10.04 worked perfect, I would love to see this get fixed as I as well use the same keyboard and mouse and have relied on it forever. Going back to the old style tapity-tap keyboards is not a solution in my mind.
