Apologies for missing some key info. uname -a
Linux ethel 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sun Mar 25 00:21:25 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux It's a PIII 450 MHz Dell LS400 laptop. Since filling the bug report I've tidied up my interfaces file and iftab, so what was eth1 is now wlan0, and eth0 has been cleaned up to be the Ethernet port. Updated lines in interface file are iface eth0 inet dhcp auto eth0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wireless-essid mfo wireless-key 7e2da856a44a40d27510c57653 auto wlan0 These changes made no difference to the problem - apologies for moving the goal posts though. Attached is my dmesg output (post ifdown/ifup of wlan0) Next post will be lspci --vvnn (I haven't worked out how to attach two files for one post. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.log" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7216064/dmesg.log -- Wireless LAN associates with wrong AP on wrong SSID https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99838 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
