At this point I think two things should be tried and reported:
1. Does experimenting with the boot option described in the previous comment 
lead to any success?
2. It might be interesting to see the results of a run of the firmware test 
suite (without suspend and hibernate tests). This can be found at 
https://launchpad.net/~firmware-testing-team/+archive/ppa-firmware-test-suite-natty-stable/+packages.
 You can just force the natty package to be installed.

Meanwhile I would set this report to incomplete.
