Well, what can I say, today aide surprised me with a successful run
without any changes to aide itself. But yesterday some updates got
installed, so I guess one of them was responsible. They were:

glibc-doc (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
icedtea-6-jre-cacao (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
icedtea6-plugin (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
libc-bin (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
libc-dev-bin (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
libc6 (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
libc6-dbg (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
libc6-dev (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
libc6-i386 (2.12.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu10
openjdk-6-jdk (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
openjdk-6-jre (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
openjdk-6-jre-headless (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
openjdk-6-jre-lib (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu1) to 6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2
ubuntu-docs (10.10.3) to 10.10.4

The most likely candidate in my eyes is the libc update. Anyway, it
seems to work now.
