I had the same bug without twinview. The following workaround solved
this problem for me: edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add the line:

Option "RenderAccel" "0"

to the "device" section. I suppose this workaround is nonoptimal as it
may reduce video acceleration, but it does allow using subpizel font
rendering, compiz, and OpenOffice anti-aliasing at the same time.
