I am getting similar behavior. I have a computer that runs Windows XP on the main disk. I have added a second disk on which Ubuntu 9.04 has been installed in the past. I am attempting to keep Windows on disk sdb and put Ubuntu 10.10 on the second disk, sdc. Wiping out everything on the second disk would be acceptable. This is the third time I have tried to do the installation, and it crashes at different points. Today it got about 80% though "Installing system". It gave an "Installer crashed" error and suggested going to this web page. It suggested aattaching the files /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman:. I cannot open a web browser on this computer under Linux. I cannot open a terminal window, and know no way of looking at these files. I can run the computer under Windows, but then cannot see anything on the second disk.
[The option "No, this is not my bug, report a new one" (or whatever) does not work. Clicking on it does nothing. Internet Explorer dispays "Error on page" at the bottom. I am on this web page from a different computer, runnig Windows Vista.] -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/552193 Title: Installer Crashed - Please File A New Bug Report -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
