Public bug reported:

Hello,

I can't use any wireless devices on my iMac G5 rev C (supported since
2.6.16). Neither integrated bcm43xx (aka Airport Extrem) nor
at76c503-rfmd (aka atmel chipset) work. In worked in the past month. I
can't determine when the problem appear since i had problem with xorg.

When i used self compiled kernel packages in dapper, i got segfault
from iwlist and iwconfig.

Now if i iwlist eth1 scan (bcm4318), i got no essid. iwlist wlan0 scan
show:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 Failed to read scan data : Resource temporarily unavailable

If i set iwconfig essid and the 26 characters WEP key, i got

eth1 IEEE 802.11b/g ESSID:off/any Nickname:"Broadcom 4318"
          Mode:Managed Frequency=2.462 GHz Access Point: 00:07:CB:56:76:7E
          Bit Rate:11 Mb/s Tx-Power=18 dBm
          RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:<too big>

The same with atmel chipset (wlan0 iface).

The problem might be in linux since the changes in softmac layer and
other stuffs i barely understand.

Note that network manager is nice enough to fall back to wired network.
I tryed also using its interface to mannually connect to a spot, but
that failed.

Thanks.
