I've just noticed that there's a similar issue with modules. I'm not
sure if this is the same problem (maybe these messages were supressed in
former times) or if this is another bug. Maybe someone can have a look
at it.

I typed "modinfo nd" and pressed tab (it correctly completes to
"ndiswrapper", but displays the error-msgs below).

$ modinfo ndls: /lib/modules/2.6.20-14-generic/kernel/drivers/connector: Not a 
directory
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.20-14-generic/kernel/drivers/cpufreq: Not a directory
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.20-14-generic/kernel/drivers/dma: Not a directory
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.20-14-generic/kernel/drivers/edac: Not a directory
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.20-14-generic/kernel/drivers/firmware: Not a directory
iswrapper
