Public bug reported: Hardware: DELL Inspiron 1100 Laptop,
uname -a: Linux cygnet 2.6.17-11-generic #2 SMP Thu Feb 1 19:52:28 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux However, the above is from the now patched system. The error occurred during installation of Edgy Eft 6.10 from a CD created with the ISO file from the Ubuntu site. The problem was repeated 3 times and occurred at the end of an otherwise smooth install. The system was installed on the full HDD, ie no windows partition was left. At the end of the install the options to "reboot now" or "reboot later" appeared and "reboot now" selected, this resulted in a partial reboot which then locked up the system requiring power off and reinstall (system unusable). The problem was resolved by selecting "reboot later", waiting for the subsequent HDD & CD activity to finish, then rebooting (resulted in successful install). ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Edgy install fails due to freeze / lockup during reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104011 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
