Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I deleted the image it happened with, so I can't pass it on. However I don't think there was anything special about that image. The image was just a simple .png, which I had already cropped with Shotwell.
I am finding it hard to reproduce this bug but I will try to do exactly what I did last time and see if it happens again.
