Hi,

I confirm this. Rhythmbox stopped working with my old ipod 2g silver after i
had upgraded to maverick.
I also confirm that the rhythmbox in Debian sid from EXPERIMENTAL repository,
works.

The symptom used to vary. But after a few upgrades to ubuntu, or because
iTunes has done something to the ipod, at this time, rhythmbox is able
to recognize the ipod, put an icon on the lateral panel, but it cannot
list the contents.

When I try to add something to the ipod, nothing really happens, even in
the --debug output. ( Fortunately, this action no longer corrupts the
ipod. )

Perhaps only the last few lines of the debug report is useful, so i
pasted them here:

found device path /dev/sdb for mount /media/the_ipod
