Hi Jeremy,

thx for helping.
I just installed the latest version of Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) Daily
Build "natty-alternate-amd64.iso" and it works fine!
The drives connected via the Marvell 88SX7042 controller are working.

This I tried again some minutes ago:
(Online-) Upgrating from Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 10.10, with Linux
2.6.35-23-generic (64Bit) still shows the bug.

Is the testing of the upstream kernel still needed or interesting? In this
I'm a newbi.

Greetings
Okkulter

Betreff: [Bug 666197] Re: Ubuntu 10.10 - after upgrade from 10.04 - no
drivesfound connected via Marvell 88SX7042 SATA-Host-Adapter

Hi Okkulter,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development
release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run
the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal).
It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report.

apport-collect -p linux 666197

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be
great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This
can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at
the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing'
text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
