Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: modemmanager

This bug seems to affect also to Maverick (regression?) at least in my case
using a Novatel MC950D Modem.
The system is Kubuntu Maveric with KDE 4.5.3
Kernel: 2.6.35-23-generic-pae #41-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 24 10:35:46 UTC 2010 i686
GNU/Linux
$lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10

The versions:
network-manager 0.8.1+git.20101019t162207.0a43b45-0ubuntu1~nmt1~mtrudel1
modemmanager 0.4+git.20101130t160446.ea0797c-0ubuntu1~nmt1~maverick
Expect: Connect to GSM/UMTS network
Happens: The modem is correctly detected, but after trying to connect it fails
and the device is taken down.
If I send manually the PIN (to ttyUSBX) and then try to connect then all work
properly (it takes a long time to detect valid network).

** Affects: modemmanager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
