I fell into this trap out of ignorance or because I wasn't paying enough attention. When I restarted the computer, I couldn't boot either vista or ubuntu. I had to go on another computer and download Windows Vista Recovery Disc from http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery- disc-download/ and burn it to a cd.
