Public bug reported:

Received lots of updates, including a new knetworkmanager.
All the updates where downloaded and installation started. At almost the end
installation stopped.
This is something I run into quite often. What I do normally, since the system
still thinks there is a update process running is:
- Reboot
- Start console
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo dpkg --configure -a
And everything works again.

But Now dpkg will stop and report an error that file system is read
only. What do see on the disk is that the activity led keep burning!

I have to mention that I have installed the system on a USB HD and
running on a HP 6220 notebook.

What can I do?????
