I also have this issue using the rt2500 driver to connect to a wep
protected network.  the /etc/network/interfaces file contains the
correct entries for wlan0 but running sudo dhclient does not give me an
IP address. as a side note I also have two new network interfaces which
are wlan0:ava which appears to have an ip address 169.254.6.130 and
wmaster0. using Iwlist wlan0 scan does show the network cell.

P.S. Everything works fine in Edgy.
