Odd. If you're still seeing this (sorry for the delay!), could you please install the strace package, and then run:
sudo strace -f -o update-grub.trace -s 1024 /usr/sbin/update-grub This should produce a similar error, but should create a file called update-grub.trace that has a trace of what happened. Please attach that file to this bug, and then I'll be able to investigate that to figure out exactly what went wrong. Thanks in advance. ** Summary changed: - package linux-image-2.6.31-20-generic-pae 2.6.31-20.57 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 + grub-probe: error: not a directory ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- grub-probe: error: not a directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521413 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
