Confirm same behaviour on HP Elitebook 2740p (1280x800) Ironlake IPS. Tried using drm-intel-next (2.6.37-rc2 + drm-intel) repo daily ubuntu autobuild as of the 20/11/2010 with no joy - (blank pannel, loading from conosle with i915 modeset=1 causing issue, works vesa only.
