The type of error you see and the fact that -safe-mode works suggests that it's either an extension which is breaking it, or something else is wrong with your profile, and so far, you seem to be the only person with this problem.
Please report firefox bugs with ubuntu-bug, as the apport hook attaches interesting information about your profile, which saves us a bunch of time asking questions.
