Same problem here on 10.04 LTS with this wifi chip. Used to work
flawlessly on 9.10... Am not moving to 10.10 until this is sorted out.

I'm not sure whether it is a driver problem or a network manager
problem, however when I run :

sudo restart network-manager

Suddenly I can connect again. Usually the connection lasts for ~1hour,
sometimes longer... It seems to be depending on the quantity of data
transmitted. If I am into heavy downloading sessions, it stops in a
shorter timeframe.
