** Description changed: Using the 'standard' install of OOo in Maverick, I wanted to add a UK thesaurus. Apparently the UK and US ones are merged, so the package openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us should install what I'm after. I did - apt-get install openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us then stopped OOo and started it and expected to go Tools->Language->Thesaurus to use the thesaurus. + I did + apt-get install openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us + then stopped OOo and started it and expected to go Tools->Language->Thesaurus to use the thesaurus. The 'Thesaurus' item in the menu is still greyed out. - It is unclear what to do next in order to actually use the thesaurus. - - Also, if this really is also a UK thesaurus, mightn't it be worth naming it such that it's less obviously wrong for someone after a UK thesaurus? - + Also, if this really is also a UK thesaurus, mightn't it be worth naming + it such that it's less obviously wrong for someone after a UK thesaurus? da...@ubuntu:~$ dpkg -l | grep openoffice ii openoffice.org-base-core 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- shared library ii openoffice.org-calc 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- spreadsheet ii openoffice.org-common 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- arch-independent files ii openoffice.org-core 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- arch-dependent files ii openoffice.org-draw 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- drawing ii openoffice.org-emailmerge 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- email mail merge ii openoffice.org-gnome 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- GNOME integration ii openoffice.org-gtk 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- GTK+ integration ii openoffice.org-help-en-us 1:3.2.1-6ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- English_american help ii openoffice.org-impress 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- presentation ii openoffice.org-math 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- equation editor ii openoffice.org-style-human 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- Human symbol style ii openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us 1:3.2.1-2ubuntu1 English Thesaurus for OpenOffice.org ii openoffice.org-writer 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 office productivity suite -- word processor ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us 1:3.2.1-2ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.33-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Nov 13 20:11:20 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: - LANG=en_GB.utf8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANG=en_GB.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: openoffice.org-dictionaries
