I can confirm this bug is still present in Maverick (10.10), 32 bit
system, copying files over scp to an eeepc 1005H running Mint 8:

I am getting this error both with rx / tx set to "off" as suggested by
others, or without running "ethtool" first.

scp testfile.dat eeepc:
