Sounds like an ACPI support bug found in different EeePC models. They seem to send an incorrect signal on different action. In this similar Bug #268422, plugging in the power cable starts evolution. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 660278 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected.
