A workaround it is, but it works. I assume some descendant of the Ricotz version is what will ulimately end up in the offical repos, but the GNOME 3 version works now. Again, the GNOME 2.32 version works in Maverick, does not work in Natty and has not since I first switched to Natty. A true fix would provide useful guidance about dealing with schema problems in the future as well as allowing folks with the 2.32 version of gnome-shell in Natty to use it-and could be done by either modifying gnome-shell to tolerate the glib error or fixing libglib to read the schema.
