Some more info: When pressing the (hardware) wifi button on the laptop, "rfkill list" reports that both bluetooth and wifi are "hard blocked". When enabling wifi by hardware but disabling bluetooth by software, rfkill reports that bluetooth is "soft blocked", but wifi isn't blocked at all. Also, existing wifi connections are not destroyed upon turning off bluetooth. Only new connections fail.
