Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Try to install Skype through the official partner channel.
Open Synaptic Package Manager (under the System->Administration menu). In Synaptic, select "Settings" and "Repositories". Select the "other software" tab. Make sure "Canonical Partner" is enabled.
