Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: casper

I'm unable to boot the live CD of Ubuntu 10.10 (i386) on a netbook Sony
Vaio P model VPCP11Z9E with the SONY external USB (2.0) CD/DVD
reader/burner.

I've tried with a USB boot stick created with the Ubuntu Startup Disk
Creator but I get the same error.

I've tried the kernel options all_generic_ide floppy=off irqpoll without
results.

On the netbook I can install the CD of Ubuntu 10.04 without problems.

Can I save the dmesg output in the BusyBox console?

Thanks.
