This bug affects me too. I have Ubuntu 10.04 (amd64) and also a Lexmark T640 printer (connected through the network). The problems are not specific to particular documents. I have attached the error_log file (with debugging information enabled as described here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems) for a failed attempt to print. I don't see anything suspicious in the log file.
When I connect to the webpage of the printer, I see for a short moment 'printing canceled', then the usual 'printer ready'.
