I should probably add how I can reproduce this bug here :) Set kde's monitor and display power saving to 2 mins.
Set the screensaver to any screensaver you wish, set to 1 min blank, 1 sec lock (not sure if this is required). Setup amarok or kaffeine using xine engines to play a long list of mp3's - let the machine set for a long time playing music.
