Public bug reported: Binary package hint: zoneminder
Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Zoneminder 1.24.2-5ubuntu1 Worked fine in early ubuntu versions. But after mysql start was ported to upstart zoneminder dependencies are not working anymore. ZoneMinder expects to connect to a database, usually @localhost. If mysql delays to start, zoneminder exits and should be restarted manually. Too bad for a security related software. If Zonaminder keeps mysql-server as a dependency for installing it should have mysqld as a dependency for startup. Currently zoneminder is starting from sysvinit and mysql from upstart so polite dependencies are not possible. Attached is my quick and dirty workaround. ** Affects: zoneminder (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Zoneminder fails to start if mysql not running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/666283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
