I had the same problem with Feisty Beta (alternate CD install right BEFORE any updates). After filling out the comments after the lastest test, the application stopped responding and went crashing a few monents after that. Apart from the hwdb-gui, only a terminal was running... i will try again, after updating and rebooting the machine.
