I can confirm the fix working on an HP Touchsmart tm2-1090eg notebook. The jumpy cursor problem is a matter of configuration as far as I know. Use "synclient" to see what values are used in openSUSE and Ubuntu and try them out. Setting "JumpyCursorThreshold" to 100 worked well for me.
