My guess is that all these troubles are related to the kernel module snd-usb-audio.
Got the same Webcam here E3500 with built in microphone. With snd-usb- audio loaded I am unable to suspend/resume (kernel-suspend) in Lucid- amd64. Module snd-usb-audio has no suspend/resume script! My solution is to blacklist the module (micro) in /etc/modprobe.d /blacklist-xyz.conf and rebuild initramfs.
