Tested with: Ubuntu Live Daily Build 03-Apr-2007 17:51 I get the same error. I have not tested what disabling floppy disk drive support does.
Specs: -ASUS P5W-DH -C2D E6600 -PATA DVD drive -SATA HDD Previously in other builds (6.06, 6.10, 7.04 beta + daily builds), my DVD drive was never detected. I believe this error is similar to the one the ASUS P5B series had, but the P5B supposedly has it fixed. For a previous, recent daily build: I tried installing the alternate CD off a separate HDD, before, and it stalled when trying to detect a floppy disk drive.
