Adrian, thanks so much for packaging these into .debs. However, I downloaded and installed them (I am running 64-bit lucid) and the problem persists for me. I can see that the fix appeared to work for others but not on my machine for some reason. Rhythmbox, sound-juicer, both crash at audio CD insertion and nautilus will not read the audio CD. That is the bad news.
The good news is that I did a clean install of 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 on a spare partition and this bug appears to be fixed in 10.10. As an LTS kind of user, I will be keeping Ubuntu 10.04.x as my main OS so I still need to get this fixed in lucid. My next step is to download the debs from maverick and install them to my lucid machine to see if that fixes the problem on lucid.
