** Description changed:

  I have a Toshiba satellite L655d PSK1NC-01100s Laptop
I've installed without problem Ubuntu 9.10 but can not upgrade to a newer
version.
  10.04, 10.10 won't install !
- Lines of messages concerning acpi issues and kernel apprear and the
installation freezes !
+ Lines of messages concerning acpi issues and kernel appears and the
installation freezes !
I managed to install 10.10 with the acpi=off but can not boot what so ever !
It is installed but can't access to GDM even with acpi=off, noapic, etc...
Nomodeset brings be to command line , which is not to bad :-)
There is no bios update for this model and i know they had the same issues
with a later model : L650, fixed by a bios update
This is the first time since 2006 that i can't boot an Ubuntu CD !
But why is 9.10 working well ?
New Kernel features not supported by Bios ?
I'm in triple boot (9.10,10.10 and winnie) so i use 9.10 for now , waiting
for a solution to come.
