I can reproduce this on two machines. One I upgraded from Lucid to the Maverick RC and experienced this, after which I tried a clean install which still reproduced the issue. I reverted to the nouveau drivers and could no longer reproduce it. The other machine is this laptop which was upgraded to the final 10.10 version today where I now experience it. It naturally has the ability to cause data loss.
Attached is the output from nvidia-bug-report.sh. I believe Triaged would be the correct state for a Confirmed bug with multiple attached logs, but of course let me know if more information can be provided. I'll see if there is a metabug for this. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- X server 1.9.0 crashes reproducibly when a lot of gnome-terminal windows are opened on GeForce 8800 GTS/nvidia drivers/compiz with `normal' visual effects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655832 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
