The same for me. ASUS G51J laptop with nvidia 360M. Downloaded ubuntu-10.10-desktop-amd64, launched from USB and then from CD - white and black blocks after showing ubuntu logo. Is it any way to enable safe video mode for installer? Ubuntu logo with red dots are shown correctly (in one monitor configuration. when I connect second monitor - all screens full of random dots), so X server at least starts somehow.
