I'm just trying to make work gtk-recordmydesktop and I add to /etc/apt/sources.list this lines: deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic universe deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic multiverse deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic main restricted that make the problem, gtk-recordmydesktop works great on another versions of Ubuntu.
