But there's a good workaround to it available. But that doesn't use the
exchange connector at all.

Subscribe to all the folder (Calendar/ Tasks/ Notes/ Journal/ Contacts) from 
the exchange server using dimap.
When they are listed in kmail, change their properties. The property to be 
changed is called "Folder Content". Set it accordingly.

I think with that you should be done.

The merit of this workaround is that when you later open kontact, you
don't really need to be having a network connected. It does bring
offline functionality.

AFAIK, the exchange connector in kdepim has been dead with no maintainer
for it.
