Fabio: I think the issue here is that if a system is upgraded in situ, /something/ is (in one of the *new* packages) is not being reconnected to the bus afterwards for the messages to get through. A single reboot and everything is happy again, it's just that the user can't shut them machine down immediately following the upgrade.
