Ubuntu 10.04 & 10.10 beta, Kernels: 2.6.34 & 2.6.35
On HP laptop (envy series) we observe an intermittent high pitch noise (morse
code) from the Broadcom Corporation Device 4353 (wifi+bluetooth). Actually I'm
using STA/Broadcom driver detected by ubuntu.
When the noise appears:
- always after the splash screen during boot
- when the CPU is idle
How to reduce the noise:
- turn off bluetooth
How to eliminate the noise:
- removing CPU from idle state
- turn off the Broadcom driver (switch physically off the wifi)
This issue is only observed on Linux.
