I have the same issue here my self under Feisty (and it worked perfectly under Edgy using the nvidia binary)
I have a nvidia MX 100/200 32M The nv driver on xorg.conf gives me 1280x1024 no 3d. Adding the "restricted driver" has shown me up to 1024x768 on the xorg.con, but actually 800x600 on the GUI applet to select screen resolution, no 3D I am back to the original nv. I had to manually install xresprobe, cause it aint there by default, but the outcome of sudo xresprobe nv is: id: SyncMaster res: 1280x1024 1152x864 1024x768 832x624 800x600 720x400 640x480 freq: 30-71 50-160 disptype: crt I am afraid to try nvidia restricted driver again any time soon. A good idea to help the users with an easy interface to set restricted drivers went really bad. -- nvidia resolution and 3d not initialised properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/82095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
