I attempted to reproduce this issue using Ubuntu and Xubuntu Desktop
images dated 2010-09-25. I can no longer reproduce this bug. The last
Ubiquity dialog shows two buttons in Maverick Meerkat development
version (10.10). When "restart now" is clicked, it immediately shades
out to show something is happening. Also, a spinner is shown in place of
the cursor.
