Public bug reported:

First, I noticed that Pidgin wouldn't mark me as "away" after being away
from my computer. Then, I noticed Gnotime also wouldn't stop the clock
and xautolock wouldn't start the lock screen. So, after doing some
research, I discovered that the X windows server I'm running might be at
fault, namely, Xvnc a.k.a. Xtightvnc . The output of doing an xdpyinfo
is below.

There is no MIT-SCREEN-SAVER, which I think would be necessary for
idleness of the mouse and keyboard to be correctly acknowledged.

Don't know if anything can be done about this since it's dependent upon
a fork from XFree86.

    MIT-SHM
