I have the same problem on my computer. The sceen is blank after load of kernel. I have 2 cards on this pc : 1 pci ati and 1 agp : nvidia
Screen was pliugged only on nvidia but xorg was condigured to use ati card. Screen was good in xorg. After edited xorg.conf and replace the device line from ati and nvidia + busid line it worked.
