Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gtk2-engines
Radio and checkbox buttons on all clearlooks-related themes are rendered rather horribly. The foreground color for "checked" seems to be almost exactly the same color as the background. Only by hovering over and/or focusing on the check or radio button can the state (checked or unchecked) be seen (barely). I suspect that this has something to do with a poor interaction with the xserver display. This is on a Mac Mini using the nVidia display driver. (The exactly same theme and font combination works perfectly on a non- Apple laptop not using the nVidia driver.) We seem to be forced to use a not-so-clear theme as an unsatisfactory workaround. % lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 % apt-cache policy nvidia-common nvidia-common: Installed: 0.2.15.1 Candidate: 0.2.15.1 Version table: *** 0.2.15.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.2.15 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages % apt-cache policy xserver-common xserver-common: Installed: 2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4.3 Candidate: 2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4.3 Version table: *** 2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4.3 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com karmic-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2:1.6.4-2ubuntu4 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages % apt-cache policy gtk2-engines gtk2-engines: Installed: 1:2.18.4-1ubuntu2 Candidate: 1:2.18.4-1ubuntu2 Version table: *** 1:2.18.4-1ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:2.18.4-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages ** Affects: gtk2-engines (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- radio and check box buttons in clearlooks on nVidia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
