If you only updated alsa drivers to 1.0.23, then there are a couple of
things you can try to upsample audio to 48000. Firstly, in sound
preferences, make sure the HDMI device and or profile is selected, so
that audio output goes via the HDMi connection. It also might be an idea
to open /etc/pulse/daemon.conf in an as root, and change the line"

; default-sample-rate = 44100

To

default-sample-rate = 48000

I.e uncomment it, and change the value.
