As the debian maintainer of this package I support ubuntu syncing it into Maverick. Updated vala bindings for other gupnp-packages is not strictly needed atleast by the rygel package which is the only vala program using gupnp I know of, but I see no reason to hold it back if you sync the rest of the gupnp.
