Public bug reported: Yesterday my Xubuntu 10.10 desktop was upgraded with (amongst other things) kernel 2.6.35-20. Then my X and NFS didn't work anymore. I tried to install previous versions of the X-server to no avail.
Then I booted the system in kernel 2.6.35-19 --> OK!! I got these messages when trying to start gdm. inani...@renault:~$ gdm ** (gdm-binary:1501): WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager: Connection ":1.24" is not allowed to own the service "org.gnome.DisplayManager" due to security policies in the configuration file ** (gdm-binary:1501): WARNING **: Could not acquire name; bailing out inani...@renault:~$ Thanks for your feedback. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Xubuntu kernel 2.6.36-20 No X and NFS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/636294 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
